Catfish and/or Color Theory

Today was my second day of classes at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Yesterday I had class from 9:30AM-4:50PM (with a break, obviously.) Even with a 45min break for lunch, 6 hours is a long time to do anything. Yesterday I spent it drawing.

Apparently we were supposed to have a female model for our figure study on the first, but a skinny, aging hipster-type showed up instead. It wasn’t too strange to draw a nude man, if that’s where you’re thinking this conversation may be headed next. He looked exactly like Morrisey. I have homework in all my classes already. Drawing, LCD (color theory,) and English. Luckily, my English class doesn’t meet next week until Wednesday.

I’m not complaining (yet) because I DID sign up for this. However, this is a very labor intensive school. Monday, and Wednesday I have class from 9:30AM until about 8:15PM or so. That’s a long time to learn. It leaves just enough time to do all the work for the next week’s class. So far all my teachers seem crazy, which is good. It must be an art-teacher thing, but it seems all the professors here are very... long winded. My light/color/design teacher is endlessly expressing her passion for the ‘millions of colors the eyes can see all at once!!’
I guess I should probably continue to draw this perfectly symmetrical chair without a straight-edge. I mean, it clearly makes me an artist...........

PS: On a way cooler note, my adorable South Korean roommate, Bo Bae, told me that ‘Maggie’ phonetically in Korean is ‘Maegi,’ which is a kind of catfish. So... she just stopped calling me by my name and started calling me Catfish.

PPS: I made a friend! Her name’s Cathy and she has a baby-laugh. Like a really hearty, guttural giggle. We also share a love for Girl Talk and Frank’s Red Hot. That is all.

You are adorable, and I totally forgot to call you. I am a jerk. Also, I am dropping French. I'm glad the long days and tedious work aren't getting to you yet. I love you button.

P.S. My last name has two L's.
